Mayim Bialik, best known for her role in Big Bang Theory, in which she played the role of nerdy neurobiologist Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler, is a longtime vegan! She is also the author of a cookbook, and is now co-owner of a casual vegan restaurant in Los Angeles called Bodhi Bowl.

The Bodhi Bowl is a plant-based restaurant that aims to make healthy food more convenient and accessible. Customers can customize bowls, wraps and sandwiches. Bialik partnered with Chef Ali Cruddas in the vegan venture, and describes it as a healthy vegan Subway sandwich restaurant.

“When she was ready to open Bodhi Bowl I was so thrilled. I had been testing out her seitans and dressings for years, and now we can enjoy them in what’s essentially a vegan healthy Subway sandwich restaurant at reasonable prices in Downtown LA.” Bialik told Haute Living.

“It’s a casual and low priced place with bowls, salads, sandwiches, and wraps. You can customize things however you want or go with other menu items,” Bialik said.

而且Bialik 对她的孩子也是植物基的养育方式，她公开声明说：“你可以养纯素的宝宝，他们也可以很健康。”她说她鼓励孩子们提出疑问，为了多数人的利益而牺牲，虽然她不知道她的孩子会不会一直继续这种审过方式，但是她希望她给他们灌输的思想可以扎根，那就是：为了道德标准可以做出牺牲，而不是一味追求时髦或平庸。

In addition, Bialik has raised her kids to be plant-based and come out publicly to state: "You can raise vegan children who are healthy children.” She said she is raising her children to question things, and to make sacrifices for the greater good. While she doesn’t know if her children will always continue this lifestyle, she hopes that she has instilled in them the values of sacrifice for ethical standards above what is trendy or commonplace.
